East Palo Alto + East Menlo Park

Our Community.
Our Stories.
Our Impact.

Prepared Communities. Stronger Tomorrows.

A community-powered movement turning participation into opportunity, investment and lasting impact.

Our Home

This is where the story begins.

East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park are communities shaped by family, culture, perseverance, creativity and generations of people who have built something meaningful together.

Our challenges are part of the story. They are not the whole story. Resilience has always lived here.

rEMPAct begins with a simple idea: communities should have a stronger voice in shaping their preparedness, opportunity and future—and the value created by community participation should create benefit that comes back home.

A Bolder Question

What if we built it ourselves?

What happens when a community stops waiting for someone else to determine what preparedness, resilience and opportunity should look like?

rEMPAct is about community agency: preparing ourselves, telling our own stories, creating opportunity, building partnerships and reinvesting in the people and programs that strengthen our future.

From Preparedness to Impact

Preparedness is only part of resilience.

True resilience also means education, economic opportunity, entrepreneurship, stronger families, community investment and the ability to recover—and thrive.

01

Prepared households

Knowledge and readiness help families make confident decisions before, during and after disruption.

02

Stronger neighborhoods

Prepared people are better positioned to help one another and strengthen the networks around them.

03

Community opportunity

Participation can create visibility, partnerships, resources and new paths for local people and programs.

Participation Creates Value

The value should come home.

Community attention, stories and participation have real value. rEMPAct is designed around a long-term principle: when community participation creates opportunity and resources, that value should help strengthen the community that created it.

Our Voice

Change who tells the story.

For too long, communities are often described from the outside. rEMPAct creates space for residents, families, students, entrepreneurs, volunteers and partners to tell the story from within.

Real people. Real stories. Real progress. Real impact.

This section of the site will grow over time as community stories, achievements and opportunities are shared through rEMPAct and the @OurEMPAct social channels.

Home First

East Palo Alto + East Menlo Park: the proving ground.

This starts at home. The vision is to build it here, improve it here and demonstrate what community-powered preparedness, participation and reinvestment can look like.

Build it here.
Prove it here.
Improve it here.
Our Commitment. In Writing.

rCommitment.

rEMPAct is being built around a simple belief: when community participation helps create value, opportunity and growth, our communities should share in the impact.

Our community should share in the value we create together.
This is more than something we want to say. It is a principle we are putting in writing from the beginning.
What rCommitment Means

Growth should create community impact.

01

Community First

rEMPAct begins in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park. These communities are not simply where the idea started—they are the foundation of the movement.

02

Participation Creates Value

Community participation, stories, attention and engagement help create value. As rEMPAct grows, that value should help create opportunity and resources that strengthen the community.

03

Growth With Purpose

As the company grows, rEMPAct intends to build partnerships and opportunities that connect business growth with meaningful community benefit.

04

Reinvestment

When financially sustainable, rEMPAct intends to direct a portion of the value it creates toward community programs, opportunities and initiatives.

communities.

As rEMPAct grows, community reinvestment may support areas that create lasting opportunity, stability and pride in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park.

Home

Neighborhood Stability

Exploring ways to support projects and initiatives that help longtime residents, strengthen neighborhoods and preserve community connection.

Transparency Matters

The community should be able to see
the impact.

As rEMPAct reaches the point where it is able to reinvest resources into the community, we intend to publicly share where that support goes and what it helps accomplish.

This may include community organizations supported, programs and projects funded, scholarships or opportunities created, and other measurable ways rEMPAct is giving back.

The goal is simple: If the community helps create the value, the community should be able to see how that value comes home.

Join the Movement

There are many ways to make an impact.
